Inorganic

All minerals should be inorganic, which means that a mineral cannot be made by something that is alive or was alive. Also, minerals cannot have anything that is alive living in it. If an object had fossils in it and you were trying to decide if it was a mineral the answer would be no because fossils used to be alive or part of something that was alive.
