The story I want to share
In my story, I was the:
Bully
Witness
Survivor
It happened on...
Here's what happened
A friend of mine called Bob was very sad when he came to school one day. I asked him what had happened, and he explained everything that had happened. He said that he was using Facebook last night, and then got threatened by some people. They threatened to steal his things if he didn't co-operate. After sharing his story with me, he felt much better to have a friend understand his situation. We went to the teachers to ask for help after.
3 things I want you to know
Cyberbullying can happen anywhere and anytime.
Do not share too much information in social media.
Know your fake friends from your real friends.
What can you do?
What the community, school and parents can do:
1. Awareness campaigns
2. Talk to students about their online actions
3. Train students on how to and how not to use social media
Safe Spaces
Jerry the Giraffe
No stereotypes
Freedom of speech
Being able to 'pass'
What I want adults to know
@parents, I want you to know that cyberbullying can happen anytime and anywhere in any online platform.
@teachers, I want you to know that anyone with social media can be cyberbullied.
